Airtel Smart Phone Pankongole is a handset Hire Purchase facility for Airtel’s existing customers to upgrade from 2G or 3G handsets to 4G smartphones at an affordable upfront payment.

Currently we have ZTE BLADE A36 handset under the Smartphone Hire Purchase program.

Customers can check their eligibility by dialing *522#, selecting “Device Financing Consent”, providing consent, and then following the steps under “Check Eligibility” to confirm their eligibility. Please note that an active Airtel Money account is required.

Customers need to ensure the following:

1. Provide original National Registration Card (Physical).
2. No active loan with Airtel under Airtel Credit Services.
3. Have an active Airtel Money Account.
4. Provide next of Kin contact details (the contact must be available/online for verification).
5. Minimum Airtel Money balance of ZMW420 in their account make the downpayment

Currently, only monthly repayment plan is available.

If you miss a repayment, your device will be locked until payment is made. Late payments may attract penalties as per terms and conditions.

Your phone is locked because you have not made the loan repayment as per the terms and conditions.

Your phone will be automatically unlocked upon repayment of the loan.

If your device is still locked after you have made the successful payment, it means that your data connectivity is not "ON". Kindly enable data by going into settings. Once internet is active, your phone will be unlocked. Alternatively, connect the phone to a WiFi Network to unlock the Phone. After making payment.

If the phone is lost or stolen, customer is liable to make full payment of the loan and all other payables as per agreement.

The cash price for the device is K2,300. There are two repayment plans under Device Hire Purchase, 1 4 months to pay. Customer pays a downpayment of K575 and pays K575 every month for the next 3 months after the down payment. 2 6 months to pay. Customer pays a downpayment of K417 and pays K417 every month for the next 5 months after the down payment.

Yes, customers can make full repayment at any time by dialing *522# and selecting the Loan Repayment option. However, payments cannot be less than the stated monthly instalment. Customers may only pay an amount equal to or greater than the required monthly amount.

Device colour and variant availability depends on stock at the Airtel Shop. Customers can confirm options during enrolment.

No, insurance is not included. Customers are advised to handle the device with care as they remain liable for the loan even if the device is lost or damaged.

No, the loan is non-transferable and tied to the original customer’s Airtel wallet.

The financing agreement is linked to your Airtel number. Changing your number may affect your repayment process. Contact Airtel Customer Care before making any changes.

No, customers must complete their current loan before applying for a new device financing plan.
